Mexico: Stop the repression of political activists by the DF government!
Immediate release of the political prisoners arrested on June 10th!
On June 10th, at the end of the demonstration to mark an anniversary of the historic demonstration that took place on June 10th 1971, dozens of students and teachers were brutally repressed by the police and by riot police of Mexico DF. As on December 1st 2012, the DF police attacked, arrested and beat the demonstrators in an illegal and arbitrary way, violating the most basic human rights.
Today, 42 years since the repression by the PRI government against the student movement, Macera’s government ordered the brutal repression and the arrest of dozens of students and youth.
Against the backdrop of a campaign to smear the reputation of the youth and students who are demonstrating in order to defend their rights and to mark the anniversary of an historic day of struggle in Mexico, the undersigned make the DF government responsible for the physical integrity and the good health of those arrested. We demand the immediate release of the students and teachers arrested and call on political organisations, trade unions, student unions and other groups of activists to mobilise and to organise legal activities for their release.
